In a well intentioned attempt to maintain their user base, they got rid of what made them special. Not to attribute ill intent on Google's part, Mozilla did something stupid by abandoning their extension format for Google's. Mozilla fell into the trap of supporting what Google was doing and now it can't break free because of it. We need more browsers independent of the decisions that are being handed down from on high from Google. You don't get a free and open internet by playing Google's games. I'm going to go ahead and out myself as an ideologue.

After having so much trouble that I constantly needed to have a second browser open, I realized that I may as well just switch to a second browser and not have those problems at all :/ I'm feeding into the Chromium monster now, but I'm not happy about it.

Would I really lose access to all the games in the directory of games that are just shortcuts to open Steam? :/Īlas, I'm fully with you on this, but I decided I needed more than just the philosophy to keep me on the browser. And yet, a small part of me still wonders what would happen if Steam were to fall. They could simply coast off their cut of Steam sales for probably the rest of time, considering that even now that we have Steam "competitors", they really aren't much of competition. Since I oppose the inclusion of googles widespread injection into everything, that doesn't bother me (Simply using µMatrix will show you googles presence almost everywhere). Those sites are of course infected by google in one way or another. I use Pale Moon 99% of the time as my main browser, and only have some slight issues with a few sites. I've since come to understand the importance of privacy, customization and principles. I first started using Pale Moon because I heavily disliked the UI change in Firefox.
